When anyone wants to go hiking in Metro Vancouver they might often think about going to Grouse Mountain and doing the Grouse Grind. This hiking spot can get very busy when the weather gets nicer out and the trail can fill up quickly. The Coquitlam Crunch Trail
If you are looking for parking then you should head on over to Runnel Dr which is going to get you very close to Coquitlam Crunch. There is parking along the street on Runnel Dr and you can also find a parking lot by the Eagle Ridge Field and Eagle Ridge Park in Coquitlam there.
There are several parking lot areas, another that is closer to the top if you want to start there which is the Coquitlam Crunch Parking Lot. But if you have trouble finding spots there you can also check one of the many other streets that are nearby.
If you park along the street or in the parking lot then you will be good for several hours to explore the trail, but you won’t need that much time. Whether you are advanced at hiking or not, the Coquitlam Crunch trail isn’t going to take hours to complete.
For most people who walk the Coquitlam Crunch it won’t take them that long, they will finish within an hour, while some need a little more than that. If you are going in the summer you will want to be sure you have a hat and sunglasses because there isn’t much coverage.
You can see here the trails run up the mountain, and it is a wide open space. This is the view that you see when you park near Runnel Dr and are coming up toward the Coquitlam Crunch trails.

While you will see many who are there just for business, exercise on the Coquitlam Crunch, there are others who are just out to do some sightseeing and have fun together.
You are likely to see a few birds while you are there, as you make your way through the trails. And there are other small trails nearby to find as well. There are also a lot of restaurant choices too if you get hungry after your hike.
Near the Coquitlam Crunch you have got 7-Eleven, McDonald’s, Tim Hortons, and Burger King, with other sit down restaurants too. If you are looking for a low key place to spend the morning or afternoon then Coquitlam Crunch is perfect to go with.
Pack a light snack or a bottle of water if you plan to spend some time. You might even want to bring a few fold out chairs and keep them in the trunk, grab them after your hike so that you can sit in the park and enjoy the weather some more. Maybe have a picnic with friends or family.
A Great Hiking Spot with Great Views
The Coquitlam Crunch is one of the easier trails to go with if you are not that experienced at hiking and want to still get out and take in some spectacular views. At the Coquitlam Crunch trail you will find that it is one of the best trail spots to explore in the area. The trail here is a spot that offers great views without all of the same hard work to get to the top that you might put in at Grouse Grind.
